Julian Opie Portrait
In Photoshop Elements I edited an image of myself in the same way as Julian Opie edits the album cover for Blur. I'd done this previously at GCSE, but have learned new techniques at this stage to help the process be quicker and smoother. Such as, rather than drawing around the whole face with a brush tool, all I had to do was select - Edit - Stroke (Outline) Selection and pick the thickness and colour of the outline I wanted. Another thing I learned is that if when using the Lasso tool things turn a bit messy, it can be easily corrected by going to - Select - Modify - Smooth, and selecting the pixels of how much smoothing is to be done. Another way I learned that this could be done is by using the Quick selection tool, but in some circumstances this can take longer if it selects unnecessary things.

Final Cut Express HD Tutorial
In Final Cut, I have learned how to import videos and audio files into the program. I also learned how to drag these files into the timeline, and edit them using various tools such as the razor tool, to slice clips and take away inconvenient parts. I learned how to navigate myself around the program and how to rearrange the windows if things become a little clustered. I learned how to place markers in the video, called in point and out point, and edit the marked part of the video alone. I also learned how to identify different types of audio by making the audio sound waves appear in the bar, making it easier for the visual material to match the audio material.
